Welcome back, Elfie!

Elf on the Shelf snowflake ceiling DIY to create an indoor winter wonderland

December is finally here and we are so excited to begin our favorite month of traditions! The fun starts right away on December 1 when our Elf on the Shelf, Elfie, rides in on her snowflake to join us for the holidays- and what an entrance she made this year! The best part was that it actually snowed a TON outside as well, making it just about the perfect North Pole arrival. Here’s how I created our own beautiful indoor snow day :

This snowflake ceiling was swoon-worthy while also being so incredibly easy and budget friendly. I made a huuuge (I mean, HUGE) paper chain by cutting white paper into 1-2″ strips and stapling them together to create rings. This was a simple- but time consuming- process! I highly recommend paper chaining with a cup of hot cocoa while watching a Hallmark Christmas movie maration. I hung up the chain by creating swags from the ceiling fan to the outer walls of the room and secured them with command hooks. The more overlap you can create, the better! You can absolutely stop at that step, but to make it extra magical, I layered in different garlands and tissue paper snowflakes (links to everything I used are at the bottom of this post) . The final step is to add in twinkle lights!

It was truly a magical winter wonderland! Can you even handle the excitement??
